狂氣の画家と云へば、私はこの二人を思ひ浮かべる。無論、狂氣を帶びた画家はいくらでもゐるが、この二人は狂氣をその極限まで表現し得た數少ない実例である。そして、彼等の繪は、人間の本性が狂氣を帶びたものであることを私などには納得させてくれるのである。 ……

Moses ben Maimon (Hebrew: מֹשֶׁה בֶּן־מַיְמוֹן‬ Mōšeh bēn-Maymōn; Arabic: موسى بن ميمون Mūsā bin Maymūn), commonly known as Maimonides ; Greek: Μαϊμωνίδης Maïmōnídēs; Latin: Moses Maimonides), and also referred to by the acronym Rambam‬, for Rabbeinu Mōšeh bēn Maimon, "Our Rabbi Moses son of Maimon"), was a medieval Sephardic Jewish philosopher who became one of the most prolific and influential Torah scholars of the Middle Ages.

In his time, he was also a preeminent astronomer and physician. Born in Córdoba, Almoravid Empire (present-day Spain) on Passover Eve, 1135 or 1138, he worked as a rabbi, physician, and philosopher in Morocco and Egypt. He died in Egypt on December 12, 1204, whence his body was taken to the lower Galilee and buried in Tiberias.

シシリイ人のフランスのシャルルダンジュウへの反亂、＝Vespri siciliani シチリアの晩禱
とは、この暴動の時の合言葉「Morte alla Francia Italia anela（フランスに死を、これがイタリアの叫びだ）」の単語の頭文字が「MAFIA」、これが「マフィア」の由來となった、と俗説になってゐるほどにシチリアにとっては忘れがたい事件となった。が、この語源説は、合言葉自體が不自然な單語の並びであり、後世の Mafia 傳説を作るための造語であった可能性が強い。Mafia の語源はシチリア方言で「亂暴な態度」とイタリア語辞書ではなってゐる、とか。

At the age of 21, he conquered Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul) and brought an end to the Byzantine Empire.
Mehmed continued his conquests in Anatolia with its reunification and in Southeast Europe as far west as Bosnia.
Mehmed is considered a hero in modern-day Turkey and parts of the wider Muslim world. Among other things, Istanbul's Fatih district, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and Fatih Mosque are named after him.

George Bryan "Beau" Brummell was an iconic figure in Regency England and for many years the arbiter of men's fashion.
At one time he was a close friend of the Prince Regent, the future King George IV, but after the two quarrelled, and Brummell got into debt, he had to take refuge in France. Eventually he died shabby and insane in Caen.

Sa vie est bouleversée quand il rencontre Arthur Rimbaud en septembre 1871. Leur vie amoureuse tumultueuse et errante en Angleterre et en Belgique débouche sur la scène violente où, à Bruxelles, Verlaine blesse superficiellement au poignet celui qu'il appelle son « époux infernal » : jugé et condamné, il reste en prison jusqu'au début de 1875, renouant avec le catholicisme de son enfance et écrivant des poèmes qui prendront place dans ses recueils suivants : Sagesse (1880), Jadis et Naguère (1884) et Parallèlement (1889). Usé par l'alcool et la maladie, Verlaine meurt à 51 ans, le 8 janvier 1896, d'une pneumonie aiguë. Il est inhumé à Paris au cimetière des Batignolles (11e division).

日本扶持下的傀儡政權汪精衛政權在南京成立，汪精衛就任該政權的國民政府主席和行政院長。

日中戰爭を、日本では当初「北支事變」と呼んでゐたが、1937/09の近衛内閣は「支那事變」を正式名称とした。
日本の侵略に徹底抗戰の構への蒋介石188775、日本側も近衛文麿189145首相は「國民政府を對手とせず」として、和平交渉の道は閉ざされた。ために、日本側は蒋介石に代はる相手を見付けだすべく、日本との和平交渉の方途を探ってゐた汪兆銘188344に目を付けた。
擁立された汪兆銘は北京の中華民國臨時政府や南京の中華民國維新政府などを結集し、日本の支援のもと、この日、南京に國民政府を、國民黨の正統政府であると宣言して發足させた。この新政府は、米英やソ連などの連合國からは承認をえられなかったが、樞軸國側は承認した。たゞ、ドイツは日中戰爭の狀況を日本不利と判斷して承認を躊躇、承認したのは翌年の七月になってからであった。

1943/0109、獨立政府としての汪兆銘政権は米英に宣戰布告、そして日本が中國にたいし持ってゐた専管租界の返還と治外法権の撤廢にかんする協定を結んだ。かうした汪兆銘の中國に日本は期待を持った。
