今日、東京都議会の百条委員會による證人喚問に石原慎太郎氏が臨む。
せいぜい、晩節を汚さぬやう、俎板の鯉か鯛となって、掉尾の一振、してくれればと思ひ、

いしはらず（意地はらず）申すがよからう慎太郎、

知らぬ存ぜぬ、そりゃ通じぬぞ

と天に成り代はったつもりで天聲人語してみたが、
報道によれば、石原氏の体調を理由に、喚問時間は三時間だった予定が一時間に短縮されたらしいから、まづたいした追求もできないまゝ、知らぬ存ぜぬのまゝ有耶無耶に終はってしまふのだらう。

今年の三月二十日は春分、彼岸の中日となってゐる。この日、日本であった大きな事件は、
1184年の一ノ谷での源平合戰。義經の鵯越えの逆落としの日。
1703年の主君の仇を討った赤穗浪士たちの切腹の日。そして、
1995年、東京で起こったオウム真理教による地下鉄サリン事件。
やはり、オウム真理教のそもそもからその最後となるこのサリン事件まで、同時代者でありながら共感同情するところ何一つなく、その思想と事件はいまだに不可解のまゝでゐる。
この季節になると私にかならず呟かれる狂句がある。「春三月縊り殘され花に舞ふ」、無政府主義者の大杉榮188523が、幸徳秋水187111の大逆事件への連座から免れた（その時収監中だったおかげで）時に作ったものと覺えてゐるが、私はこの狂句を念頭にしつつ、サリン事件の犯行者たちのことをおもってゐた

0235、マインツでアレクサンデルスェルスが暗殺されると、プラエトリアニ（親衛隊）によって皇帝宣言を受け、皇帝不在に動揺した元老院は追認した。翌年、息子の Gaius Julius Verus Macusimus を共同皇帝に卽位させた。
0238、アフリカ属州総督 Gordianus が反亂、元老院も Maximus から離反、Gordianus 皇帝と認めたが、G父子はM支持のヌミディア属州軍に敗北、戰死。G蜂起の失敗に、元老院は新たな共同皇帝、Decimus Caelius Calvinus Balbinus と Marcus Clodius Pupienus Maximus を即位させた。Pupierus Maxiimus は Maximus 討伐のためロウマを出陣、北上、これを聞いてMは南下、しかしこの頃には人民の非協力により補給が困難となってゐて郡内にも不滿が生じてゐた。/0510、アクイレイア包囲中のMaximiinus は近衛兵の反亂で息子とともに殺害され、その死體はロウマに贈られティベリス川に投げ込まれた。
この後、ロウマ帝國は軍人皇帝の時代となり、「三世紀の危機」へと陷っていく。

In Edo , 46 of the Forty-seven Ronin commit seppuku (ritual suicide) as recompense for avenging their master's death.

幕府により、赤穗浪士はそれぞれのお預かりの大名屋敷で切腹を命じられる。切腹の場所は庭先であったが、切腹は最高の格式である畳三枚を細川家は用意し、他の三家は二枚を用意した。當時、切腹はすでに形骸化して、脇差を腹に當てた時に介錯してしまふことになってゐた。

赤穗浪士の遺骸は、主君の淺野長矩166701内匠頭と同じ泉岳寺に埋葬された。
赤穗浪士の切腹の同日、吉良家を繼いだ吉良左兵衛義周は信濃高島藩主の諏訪安藝守忠虎にお預けとなった。徳川幕府は喧嘩兩成敗のかたちにして面目を作ったのであらう。義周はその後三年ほどして、二十歳の若さで夭折し、吉良家は斷絶してしまった。
赤穗浪士の遺児にも處罰が加へられた。十五歳以上の男子は伊豆大島に遠島、未滿の者は十五になるのを待って遠島に書した。女子はお構ひなしであった。
