平將門??0940、上野國の国衙を倒し、上野下野兩國を制壓。
｛將門にたいする評價の變遷も甚だしい。關東を中心に、中央への反抗とその壯絶な死により、逸話や傳説の主人公になり、神とまで祀りあげられた。將門の塚は天變地異の震源地となり、これを恐れた人々を鎭めるために時宗の遊行層の他阿が神と祀りあげ、1309には神田明神に合祀された。神田明神は戰國時代の太田道灌143286や北条氏綱148741らが武運長久を祈願して崇敬するやうになり、さらには關ヶ原合戰にさいして徳川家康154316が祈願し、江戸時代は幕府により神田明神は江戸層鎭守となった。朝敵の汚名は徳川家光160451の時に、勅使下向した烏丸光弘157938が「將門は朝敵にあらず」と言明して取り除かれた。が、明治維新後、朝敵問題が蒸し返され、逆賊となった。1874、神田明神の祭神から除外され、將門神社に移される。明治後半には復權運動が始まる。敗戦後は朝敵と敢へてなったところが評價され、日本屈指の英雄に祀りあげられ、大衆文藝の主人公として描かれ、NHK大河ドラマ『風と雲と虹と』の後、1984、再び神田明神に合祀とあひなった。｛日本の場合、よくある話で。楠木正成129436も、そのライヴァルの足利尊氏130558も、もっと遡れば、聖徳太子057422すらも評價の變遷が極端から極端へと變遷してゐる。
