He is often considered the creator of trigonometry as a mathematical discipline in its own right.

Unkoku Togan est un peintre japonais né dans une famille aisée de Nagasaki, deuxième fils de Hara Naoie, Daimyo du château de Nokomi dans la province de Hizen.
D'abord peintre de l'école Kanō, Togan trouve bientôt son inspiration dans le style de Sesshu.

｛私が最初ぶ彼の名前を識ったのは夏目漱石186716の『吾輩は猫である』のなかであったか、解説であったか。ホフマンにも猫を主人公にした『牡猫ムルの人生觀』といふ作品があり、猫好きである私の、Edgar Allan Poe 180949 から始まった文藝趣味はこのドイツの不可思議な作家にもたちまち取り憑かれてしまったのであった。

1921（大正10）/0210「宮中某重大事件」宮内省、裕仁親王（124昭和裕仁190189）と良子女王の婚約に變更がないことを發表。
・宮中某重大事件とは、当時、皇太子であった124熈仁昭和190189天皇の妃に内定してゐた久邇宮良子女王（後の皇后）について、その家系に色盲の遺傳があるとして、元老の山縣有朋183822らが婚約辭退を迫った事件。
・当時、軍部と政界に絶大な勢力を持ってゐた山縣の横暴であった。この山縣の言ひがかりに、當初は辭退もやむなきかとなったが、病氣療養中の123嘉仁大正187926天皇の代理的存在になってゐた貞明皇后188451や、他の元老の松方正義183524や西園寺公望184940らが反對を表明。また、玄洋社の頭山滿185544らの國粹主義者も騷ぎだし、「山縣を暗殺すべく北一輝188337等が暗躍しだした」などの流言蜚語が廣まり、最終的には裕仁親王自身の意向表明で婚約辭退は撤回となった。
・山縣のケチ付けの背後には、藩閥意識があったらうと憶測されてゐる。良子女王の生母は舊薩摩藩主の娘であった。が、この騷動の發端には、当時學問として注目されてゐた優生学により、萬世一系の天皇家に遺傳的障害の可能性について西園寺が山縣に相談したことがあった、といふ。その他、細々とした理由が憶測されてゐる。

Le prince Yasuhito du Japon, prince Chichibu, était le second fils de l'empereur Taisho et de l'impératrice Teimei, un des cadets de l'empereur Showa et l'aîné des princes Nobuhito Takamatsu et Takahito Mikasa.
Yasuhito reçut le 26 mai 1922 de son père le titre de prince Chichibu 秩父 et l'autorisation de fonder une nouvelle lignée.
Très impliqué au niveau politique, le prince eut de nombreuses querelles avec son aîné Hirohito concernant l'exercice du pouvoir et la nature du régime impérial.

母親の貞明皇后は長男よりこの次男をより愛したやうだとされる。誕生日が同日であったことがより深い絆を彼女に感じさせたのであらうかと云はれてゐる。また、婚姻にかんしても、幕末維新のとき朝敵だった松平容保183693の孫となる節子を強く推したのは彼女、貞明皇后であったと云はれる。の秩父宮に傾きがちであったと囁かれる。皇后と宮の誕生日は同じであり、そのことから皇后は強い縁を感じていたとも言われる。上記の雍仁親王の婚姻に関しても、妃に幕末維新で朝敵とされた松平容保の孫である勢津子を強く推したのは貞明皇后で、勢津子との婚姻が成立したのも皇后の意向が大きく働いた結果であったと言われる

：Fは、ヨウロパの刑罰の歴史は、身體にたいする刑罰から精神にたいするそれへ移っていったと説く。刑罰が進化したといふより、その樣式の變化、新たな權力作用の出現と主張した。
：近代の刑罰では、専門家による科學的知見が重要視され、犯罪者の精神鑑定によって人間を評價する。これを以て人間諸科學と呼び、これを分析の尺度にして「正氣・狂氣」を判斷する。すなはち、知識によって刑罰における權力を根據づけ、また相補的な關係を保ちながら共作用させる。これが、F獨自の權力概念＝Pouvoire-Savoireである。
：この權力構造をさらに解剖學的な見地からみれば、監獄における權力の技術には、規律といふ要素が強い意味を持ってゐる。規律は、人間に從順な身體を生みだす。十八世紀後半の軍人は、基本教練により姿勢や動作を矯正し、均一化、標準化がなされ、さうした身體が忠實で從順な精神を作りだす。軍隊教育こそが國家の教育として理想的なものであった。
：このなかでFは、Jeremy Bentham 175832 が考案した『パノプティコン』構造の監獄について言及してゐる。この建物の構造は、圓形を基本とし、その中心に監視塔があり、その周圍に獨房が花弁状に配置されて、監視員から監視が容易であり、囚人からはその監視が見えにくい、構造となってゐて、監獄のみならず、權力の監視構造の原理となってゐる。｛ユウトピア＝ディストピアの社界（現在その方向へと突き進んでゐる）の管理システムはこのパノプティックに準じたものとなるだらう。すでにかなりの程度、看視＝監視といふかたちで現實化してゐるであらう。
