1189/0615(文治05/④30)：源義經、衣川館にて自害

源義經115989追捕の宣旨を受けた藤原泰衡115589に衣川の館を襲撃され、家族もろとも落命。

鎌倉幕府の正史『吾妻鏡』によれば、義經主從は文治五年閏四月の三十日（1189/0615）、しつこく命令してくる源頼朝114799の要求に、「義經殿の指圖を仰げ」といふ亡父秀衡の遺言がありながらもつひに屈した藤原泰衡115589は兵五百を以て義經の衣川の館を襲った。義經には兵となる者わづか十数騎、必死に防戰するも悉く討たれ、もはやこれまでと義經は持佛堂に籠もり、妻子の郷御前と四歳の娘を害した後、自害して果てた。享年三十一。

悲劇の地は名所舊蹟となり、後世の文藝に多くの感慨を催させた。
なかでも有名なのが、松尾芭蕉164494の『奥の細道』、そのなかでこの地を夏の盛りに訪れた芭蕉は彼にとっても一世一代の名句、といふことは五七五短詩形の最高傑作とも云ふべき

夏草や、つはものどもが夢のあと

をモノしてゐる。（私はこの句と與謝蕪村171684の「牡丹切つて氣の衰へし夕かな」とをこのジャンルでの雙璧だと確信してゐる。和歌は西行、そして俳句はやはり芭蕉と蕪村にとどめをさす）。

『日本外史』1827 は幕末から明治にかけて志士をはじめとする日本人にもっとも讀まれたであらう歴史書。
内容は、日本の武家の時代、源平兩氏から徳川氏までの武家の盛衰記で、表記は漢文を用ゐ、司馬遷-14586の『史記』の體裁に則り、武家十三氏を家別に人物中心に記載。
山陽が二十歳代だった、脱藩後の幽閉中に取りかかり、放免後に推敲を重ね、1826文政九年に完成。翌年、元老中首座の白河公松平定信175929に獻上した。

歴史考證は今から見れば（当時でもさうした指摘があったが）粗雑杜撰で、見解に偏りがあり、史書といふより歴史物語といふべきもの。だが、その獨自の史觀と雄壯な文章により、幕末の尊皇攘夷の志士の精神に多大の影響を及ぼした。

ブタが戰爭したわけではない。戰爭をしたのは人間、イギリス人とアメリカ人である。場所は、北米大陸とバングウバ島との間にあるサンフアン諸島。ブタを撃ち殺したことが戰爭への切っ掛けとなったので「Pig War」と呼ばれるやうになった。ブタにはいい迷惑だった。この戰鬪での流血の犠牲となったのは、そのブタ一匹であったといふ。となれば「ブタ戰爭」と呼んでもいいやうな氣もする。
この事件を引き起こした理由とその結果については、私にはまるで興味がないので割愛。

# 棲み分け理論:カゲロウの生態学的研究と植物相にかんする生物地理学的な研究から[棲み分け理論]種同士の社界的關係について、たとへばカゲロウ類の陽中は渓流に生息するが種によってその環境が異なるとともに形態も異なってゐる。それぞれが棲み分けた環境に順応適應し、新たな亞種が形成されたと推測される。今西の棲み分け理論における獨自性は、個體ではなく、種が選擇の單位になってゐる点。この種は分類学上の種とは異なり、實際の生物個體の認知機構と實際のCommunicationにより構成されたもので、同種個體はそれにより種社界を形成する。この種社界が種の實體である。種が異なるといふ認識で棲み分けがなされ、同位社界が組織形成され棲み分けがなされる。たんなる生息地分布をさす「生息地分割としての棲み分け」と今西の個體ではなく種社界を主體とした共時構造としての棲み分けを區別する必要がある。今西の種の棲み分けは現代の生態学では受け容れられてゐない。　
# 今西說によれば、生理生態が似た個體同士は生活史において競爭と協調の動的平衡を生じる。このなかで組織されたのが實體としての種であり、今西が提唱する種社界である。種社界はさまざまな契機で分裂していく。分裂した種社界は棲み分けることで、可能ならば競爭を避けつゝ適切な場所に移動できた時、生物個體と種社界はそれぞれ自己完結的･自立的な働きを示す。その結果生じる生理生態、形態の變化が進化である。つまり、進化とは棲み分けの密度化といふ方向性を持ち、その過程で、突然變異は種社界で通常以上に高度に發生する必要があり、その變異が速やかに種社界に擴がること、變異はランダムではなく發生の制約上の方向性を持ち、どちらかと云へば前適應的に起きた變異にたいし生物が主體的に振舞ふので適應的に見える=今西進化論(『主體性の進化論』1981
